TUROLLA CAST IRON GEAR MOTORS

Turolla has offered the rugged D-Series line of motors for over 20 years.  Every component of the D-Series is specifically designed for maximum efficiency, dependability, durability and reliability in performing continuous operation in heavy duty applications with severe duty cycles and temperature conditions, all within the industry leading package size and power density.

To provide gear solutions for group 3 frame sizes, Turolla has introduced the Cascade and Dolomites lines of cast iron products.  Utilising a slightly larger frame size, the Cascade and Dolomites families extend the range at which Turolla offers cast iron units from 7.00cc’s all the way to 100.00cc’s.

Turolla offers a group 2.5 category D-series as well as group 3 Cascade and Dolomites motors in cast iron construction. The general specifications of each is listed below.

D-Series

The compact size, with side and rear port options, add to design flexibility for installation in tighter places.  Also the use of high temperature seals and a dust resistant shaft seal protector improve performance and help extend operating life.

The D-motor differs slightly from the D-pumps in internal design.  The D-pump uses a thicker dual pressure-balanced thrust plate design to ensure high starting torque and long life with lower viscosity oils.  The design of the body allows for high axial and radial external loads without the need for an outrigger bearing assembly.  Also for fan drive applications, a variety of valve options are offered for great flexibility to allow for integrated reversing, proportional relief, fixed relief and anti-cavitation valves.

Cascade Group 3

Currently any of the Cascade units are configurable to be used as pumps or as motors.  Motor options allow for internal or external drains, outrigger bearings, as well as  mounting and drive options typically found across a broad range of group 2, group 3 and even group 4 motors.

Dolomites Group 3

Just like the Cascade range, Dolomites group 3 motors are fully configurable from the same offerings as the Dolomites group 3 pumps.  Options are not as plentiful compared to the Cascade, but for a true group 3 cast iron motor the Dolomites is a good choice.
